You will stay in a truly unique location, the NH Collection Amistad Córdoba is a piece of living history sensitively renovated to the finest contemporary standards. Composed of two 18th-century palaces, its romantic courtyards, arches and ornate carved ceilings conjure up the essence of Córdoba. It is situated in the old quarter where you will discover an amazing network of alleyways, squares and white-washed courtyards surrounding the Great Mosque-Cathedral, which reflects the importance of the city in the Middle Ages, and is the symbol of the city.

DINNER in the hotel.

MONTERIA

02nd & 03 rd FEBRUARY 2018: “MONTERIA DAYS”

*The itinerary will be the same during the two hunting days.

We will have BREAKFAST in the hotel and drive to the hunting area at 9.00 a.m.

The hunting are is located in the province of Córdoba, one of the best state thanks to its orography for this modality of hunt, one hour driving from the hotel.

The hunting area, with approx. 2.000 hectares, has a variety of game as redstag, fallowdeer, wildboar and females that can be hunted with a medium-high quality of the trophies.
Once in the meeting point, we will draw the stands of the day. Every hunter will be posted with his “secretario” in the stand for the beginning of the Monteria.

The Monteria starts when the hunter is posted in his stand and it finishs when the driver pick he ups.
Normally, the the duration time is about three hours.

The TOTAL QUOTA game for the two days of Monteria is:

  • 2 REDSTAGS + 1 FEMALE DEER
  • 1 FALLOWDEER
  • FREE FALLOW FEMALES
  • FREE WILDBOARS

The stimation for the two days of hunt is about 180 animals.
Monteria is a collective form of hunting that involves a number of different roles without whom the proper development and success of the brush beating is impossible.
On a mound or brush of several hundred hectares, a series of “armadas” or lines of hunting posts are formed, surrounding and covering the terrain.

Hunting dogs play a very special role in this form of hunting and it would be impossible without them. Led by their respective dog handler, the “rehalas” are released, moving in from one or more ends of the brush. They beat the brush in different directions so that the fleeing game attempt to break through the hunting lines.
Although this would appear to be a very planned action, the truth is that monteria is a form of hunting that requires a high level of observation, attention, silence and accuracy by the hunter. So we recommend to be attentive from the first still the last moment in the Monteria.

MONTERIA1

LUNCH TIME: After the Monteria is time for lunch in the hunting area.
During this time, the “arrieros” or “cargadores” (carriers) stars their work, just as important as the rest of those involved in this event. They are charged of gathering the fallen game and loading them into the vehicles to be taken to the “junta” (meeting point) as quickly as possible.

EXHIBITION of the hunted species.

RETURN to the hotel and DINNER about 20.30 p.m.

During your stay you will taste the delicious cuisine of Córdoba, the result of a long tradition. The different peoples and civilizations which passed through this place also left their mark in the local cuisine. No one can really get to know Córdoba without trying and enjoying its cuisine and joining in the culture of eating and drinking well.

After your dinner, the city invites to walk through the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter with spectacular views to the Mezquita, your senses will transport you to the days of the Caliphate when this town was one of the most advanced city of Europe. Plenty possibilities to enjoy also the night in Córdoba. On request, it is possible to organize a visit to a “Flamenco” show.
